Reviws for ZodoFF19th July, 2009
hello Julie..... I read your Book.... LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really did, Read it in one go and was taken in by it, loved the way you wrote it and you used your imagination to your best!!!! but also a bit near the truth! You know the best for the children bit....... Funny enough today in the paper I read in Bolton that the council was called in to test for noise pollution, you will never in a million years guess where it was for????????I will tell you ........ are you ready......... a primary school play ground!!!!!!!!!! no kidding it is true it was in today's paper!!! so you are very, very near the knuckle (political) so to speak in many ways Julie. My guess is many teenagers probably won't guess the extent and that is my point because as an adult I really did enjoy it! I mean I did your other book but this had underlying tones that I think us grown ups pick up on and that the teenagers would but not to the extent that parents do, if you see what I mean.
I enjoyed the journey that the children went on ( I could feel the fear at the lake) oh and when they were in the space ship their own dreams that was reflected there and I could picture what they could see. where they went and the smells.......... you wrote it so well, oh yes and once again you mentioned a teacher!
Another very, very good book. But you don't need me to tell you that you have loads of fans to do that lol............ I am sooooooo proud of you Julie
. you know that they are kept in safe keeping until my grandchild is an adult to be passed on? and on this I am not joking!

She has done it again...Shes shown us a world of, fear and and horror and bought us into the place where we would never have gone alone....,
If any child had the chance to do something special I’m sure they would take the task with gusto, these three children that have been chosen for this job by a group of aliens that have visited earth on many occasions would prove an adventure of their wildest dreams......
Good book, overdue!

It would seem that this book will be slightly controversial..About time too, something needs to be said about the mess this world is in..
Just by reading the reviews on the back gives you an insight to what the story will be!
I am looking forward to getting my copy very much indeed.
Good preview...but not enough! more pages would have been good :)
Fantastic!

“The world, in which we live in, is a beautiful one, of this I'm sure. But I cannot say the same of human beings that occupy it. And Julie Hodgson knows this, and with ZodoFF, she translates in a book the thoughts of many of us who still believe. And YES children are the key. When you read the lines of ZodoFF you are going to cry, scream, be angry and be happy.
It makes you think. A lot! And I hope you can be in the "blues crew". ZodoFF is a fantastic book, written with the heart and eyes wide open."

This book is an amazing little book. Kept my daughter rivited to the pages , not even wanting to have her meals.
Its not often that books like this capture a childs imagination. It is different as well as a page turner.
It sounds like you have left the book wide open for further stories. A clever use of old Gaelic words too.
Well done Julie

Polly Mae Por Julie Hodgson
Jorra isto seria sensacional
Simplesmente maravilhoso.

My 8 year old neice has read this book 4 times. She is patiently waiting for the next book to come out. It was a superb story and long enough to capture her imagination and not too long to bore her. She cannot read the likes of harry potter as they are tedious and long for her. So well done and please keep writing. I have read your other reviews and understand that you are in the midst of writing a new story. Please inform your store front so we might purchase your novel. This book would make a smashing film for small children of my neices age.
I have made errors with my spelling on my other review, I do appologise! I am supposed to be doing paper work!

Great story telling, Like the hard back version, good to read out to other kids. Nice to find books that state reality instead of the usualy virtual reality or fantasy. Brings us back into the real world and what kids can get up to if they put their minds to it and use their own imagination through good old fashioned play!
